Case Study: Atlas Leisure Homes custom WordPress theme
We developed a WordPress theme with custom built-in tools that saved our client hours of repetitive work and made it easier to maintain an online catalogue of evolving products.
RMP Design & Marketing asked us to help with a website relaunch for Atlas Leisure Homes, a manufacturer of luxury lodges and holiday homes based in Kingston-upon-Hull, UK. In line with the rest of the caravan and holiday home industry, Atlas launch their new product range every September which requires the complete overhaul of their offline and online marketing collateral—no small undertaking due to the size and complexity of the product offering.
Historically their approach has been to tear down their current website and rebuild from scratch—often going right up to the wire as the season of UK caravan shows approached. In 2018 RMP chose to implement a more sustainable approach based on WordPress with a custom-designed theme to showcase the Atlas range of lodges and holiday homes. Our client provided us with design visuals from which we developed a series of theme templates.
By customising the user interface within the WordPress administration area, and developing a front end template for the specifc features and attributes of the Atlas product range, we were able streamline the process of adding new products to the website. This resulted in significant time savings for our client.
As well as the benefits of improved efficiency and lower maintenance overhead, our custom WordPress theme supports the continual addition of further product ranges, extending the life of the website and bringing year-on-year cost savings to both our agency client RMP and their customer Atlas Leisure Homes.
Our brief for this project was twofold. First to update the site visually and create added value for visitors. And secondly to make the process of managing the site simpler and more productive. Having worked with Art & Soul over many years, I had no doubt that they had the expertise required to deliver on these objectives. It was therefore no surprise when the project was completed successfully on time and on budget.
